A jar of cashew butter can be quite expensive. But you can make it at home for less than half the price!
As a bonus, you control what goes in it - this is your chance to avoid sugars and preservatives!
Chock-full of healthy fats and magnesium, cashew butter is perfect for a healthy snack. It’s also rich in iron and selenium, which help fight off anemia and fatigue.
Since it’s peanut-free, cashew butter is a healthy alternative for those with peanut allergies.
You can put it on top of oatmeal, use it as a dip for vegetables and fruits, or spread it on toast and crackers.

Ingredients
- Raw cashews, 0.4 lb (375 gr)
- Salt
- Optional: coconut oil
How to make
- Bake it for 7 minutes at 350 F (175 C), until it gets a yellow-brownish tint. This will make your butter have a great, rich taste.
- Put the hot cashews directly in the food processor.
- Start the food processor slowly, then gradually increase the speed.
- The ground cashews may accumulate on the food processor’s walls. Pause to clean them.
- Add salt and (optionally) coconut oil.
- Continue mixing / grinding for about 7 minutes, or until the butter reaches a creamy consistency.
Storage
- Store it in an airtight container, preferably a glass jar.
- Refrigerate it.
